About SEAWORK
SEAWORK in Southampton is the UK's premier maritime workboat show. Annually there are around 7,200 visitors from 60 countries
Market Information
The UK, like the Netherlands, has a successful and established shipping industry. At present, the UK's successful shipping industry still causes too many emissions of greenhouse gases and pollutants. This is why the UK government has made a strong commitment to making shipping more sustainable in recent years. National action plans such as the Clean Maritime Plan should ensure that the country meets (inter)national climate targets. There are many opportunities in the UK maritime sector for Dutch entrepreneurs offering solutions around sustainable shipping and smart ports. The UK government has recently invested heavily in both themes. In the UK, the energy transition encourages cleaner shipping. It also allows for more self-sufficient ships, efficiency and safety. There are opportunities for companies developing alternative fuels or making batteries for ships.
United Kingdom maritime report
A survey of the maritime sector in the United Kingdom was conducted in March 2023. This was commissioned by the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) and the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) in Manchester. The report gives you an overview of the UK maritime sector, what opportunities exist and how you can capitalize on them.
