Newthex continues collaboration with Damen: Supply of shell doors for ASWF project

Following a successful delivery for the Combat Support Ship (CSS) HNLMS Den Helder, Newthex has signed a new contract with Damen Naval. This time, the agreement covers the supply of various shell doors for the new Anti-Submarine Warfare Frigates (ASWF), which will replace the current M-frigates of both the Royal Netherlands Navy and the Belgian Navy.

The requirement was to purchase a single type of electric motor that could be used multifunctionally on both the port and starboard sides. Econowind installs four VentoFoils on tanker M/T JUTLANDIA SWAN

Rotterdam, June 26, 2025 – Econowind has successfully installed four 16-metre VentoFoils on board the chemical tanker M/T JUTLANDIA SWAN, owned and operated by Danish shipping company Uni-Tankers. The ATEX-proof Wind-Assisted Ship Propulsion units were installed in just four days in the port of Rotterdam.

Damen delivers state-of-the-art Shoalbuster 2711 UKD Seadragon to UK Dredging

During a festive ceremony, a Damen Shoalbuster 2711 WID (Water Injection Dredging) was christened. The vessel has been delivered by Damen Shipyards to UK Dredging, a subsidiary of Associated British Ports. The ceremony took place in the Roath Basin in Cardiff, Wales, with Mrs Rhian Lewis acting as the godmother and officially naming the vessel UKD Seadragon.

Fugro to provide integrated site characterisation for RWE and TotalEnergies’ Windbostel offshore wind projects

Fugro has been awarded contracts to conduct both geophysical and geotechnical site investigations for the development of two large-scale offshore wind farms in the German North Sea. The project, known as Windbostel Ost and Windbostel West, is a joint venture between RWE and TotalEnergies, with a combined generating capacity of 4 gigawatts (GW).

Royal IHC shows signs of recovery and lays foundation for sustainable growth in 2024

The year 2024 marks a turning point for Royal IHC. The positive results of the strategic review and restructuring in 2023 have created the foundation for further growth. Revenue increased with 40% in 2024 to €436.4 million (2023: €312.3 million). Although the year ended with a net loss of €33.4 million, the operating result (EBITDA) turned positive at €1.4 million (2023: €-31.2 million, excluding IQIP). At the end of 2024, the order book stood at approximately €400 million. As such, the maritime technology company is taking an important step towards net profitability and controlled growth. ‘In 2024, we transitioned from restructuring to building the organisation,’ said CEO Derk te Bokkel. ‘Our operational and financial results are improving, the organisation is more agile and our customers' confidence in the future of Royal IHC is returning.’
