Alewijnse to showcase maritime careers during Oceanco's World Boating Day

11 mei 2026

On Friday, May 22, 2026, Oceanco, Alewijnse and other co-makers will host Oceanco Career Day at its facilities in Alblasserdam. On the occasion of World Boating Day, the event will be open to students, professionals and anyone else curious about a future in yacht building and the maritime sector.

Via three main experiences visitors will be able to explore how a superyacht comes to life, meet the people behind the process, and discover a range of career paths across the industry.

The first experience will be The Story of a Build; an interactive experience that will take visitors through the full journey of a superyacht, from first contact right through to delivery. Using a series of immersive installations, each phase of the build process will be brought to life through features such as a VR tour and live 3D printing.

Next will be the Co-maker Community. There visitors will be able to connect directly with Alewijnse, Oceanco and other partner companies in a dedicated meet-and-greet space. Representatives will be on hand to discuss opportunities within yacht building and the wider maritime industry.

Finally, the Forum. There, visitors can attend a series of expert talks and panel discussions featuring speakers from across the industry. These sessions will offer insight into different career paths and the experience of working in a highly collaborative and technical environment.

Oceanco Career Day is designed to make the industry more accessible to potential talent, offering a clear view of what it takes to build extraordinary yachts, and enabling attendees to meet the people who make it happen. Whether they are at the start of their careers or considering a new direction, visitors can explore how their skills and interests can translate into a future within the network of Alewijnse, Oceanco and other partners.
