At our yard in Werkendam, we proudly celebrated the christening of Olivijn, the third coaster delivered to De Bock Maritiem. This milestone reflects a strong and ongoing partnership, following the earlier deliveries of mv. Amadeus Saffier and mv. Sardius.
With a cargo hold volume of 5,530 m³ and a tweendeck configuration, the Olivijn provides flexibility for a wide range of cargo types, including bulk and project cargo.
This setup allows for efficient cargo separation and improved utilisation, enabling operators to adapt to different trade patterns without compromising efficiency.
Designed for efficient operation
The vessel features an efficient hull form, contributing to reduced fuel consumption and stable sailing behaviour. Combined with an optimised cargo intake and robust onboard systems, this ensures reliable and straightforward day-to-day operations.
The design also allows for further optimisation and potential integration of hybrid or alternative propulsion solutions, supporting future regulatory and fuel developments.
Performance proven in practice
The strength of this series lies in its proven performance. De Bock Maritiem has been operating the earlier vessels in the series and shares:
“Given the strong performance of our mv. Amadeus Saffier and mv. Sardius, commissioning the Olivijn was a logical next step. The positive experience with Holland Shipyards Group on the first two vessels provided a solid foundation for this latest project.”
The short sea market plays a vital role in Europe’s logistics network, offering an efficient and sustainable alternative to road transport. At Holland Shipyards Group, we support this sector with practical, no-nonsense solutions: vessels that are reliable in daily operations while being ready for the transition towards greener propulsion.
With a track record of over 45 green newbuilds and extensive experience in both construction and conversion projects, we continue to deliver vessels that combine economic performance with sustainability.
The Olivijn is a clear example of that philosophy: built to perform, ready for tomorrow.
We thank De Bock Maritiem for their continued trust and valued partnership, and wish the Olivijn and her crew a safe voyage and many successful journeys ahead.
