Fugro has been awarded a grant from the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) under the Research and Innovation scheme, supporting the development of advanced technologies that strengthen industry competitiveness and drive innovation.
With this support, Fugro is accelerating the development of its digital twin capability. This industry-first, AI-enabled platform unifies geophysical survey data, geotechnical site investigation results, laboratory data and imaging into a single digital analytics environment.
Today, marine site characterisation often relies on fragmented, labour-intensive workflows and manual interpretation across disconnected datasets. By leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning, the platform will automate data integration, interpretation and analysis, helping to break down data silos, improve efficiency, and unlock deeper insights from complex marine Geo-data.
The marine digital twin capability will further strengthen Fugro Singapore's role as the key hub for marine Geo-data in Asia Pacific. The platform is expected to enhance decision-making for offshore and coastal development by delivering faster, more predictive ground intelligence to clients worldwide. Supported by EDB, the initiative will also contribute to the growth of local expertise in AI, data science and digital engineering while creating high-value jobs and reinforcing Singapore's position as a leading innovation hub.
