Oceanco is excited to announce that Project Y729 is being transported from its construction facilities in Zwijndrecht to Alblasserdam for outfitting. Having had her steel hull and aluminium superstructure assembled and pre-outfitted, Y729 now enters the final stages of fabrication ahead of launch, sea trials, and delivery in 2027.
With an overall length of 80m/262ft and displacement of 2,600gt, Y729 features exterior design by Espen Øino International, interior design by Zuretti Design and technical representation by Arrow Monaco. The accommodation will host up to 14 guests, looked after by up to 28 crew.
Y729 is the first Simply Custom project, an offering designed to streamline the process of building a custom yacht while maintaining Oceanco’s pedigree. Available from 80m/262ft or 2,500–2,700gt, Simply Custom gives owners the freedom to incorporate their most desired design features on an established technical foundation.
“With Y729, we were able to utilize the readily available Simply Custom technical backbone to kickstart the project,” says Oceanco Project Director, Erwin de Looff. “This, combined with the owners’ deep understanding of what it takes to keep a complex project moving, and to truly inspire and motivate a team, has seen the project progress at a very fast pace.”
For the owners, Y729 is their first yacht. After many years of chartering, they wanted to create something entirely their own, a place where their family could spend quality time together. While they are excited for the finished result, they are embracing every stage of the journey, with the load out marking another special milestone.
“There’s great chemistry between ourselves, the designers, our representatives and the shipyard, so whenever we come together it naturally turns into a celebration,” say the owners. “Everybody involved is giving their all to the project, and the whole team feels like an extended part of our family. Building this yacht together has been an incredibly joyful experience.”
