Oceanco delivers dreamboat

20 november 2025

Oceanco is proud to announce the delivery of DreAMBoat, formerly known as Project Y726. Commissioned in 2022, the 111m / 364ft DreAMBoat is the second yacht of the same name built by Oceanco for the same owner. With a volume of 4,550gt, she is one of the largest yachts by volume ever constructed by Oceanco.

“At Oceanco, we believe that great yachts come from great relationships,” says Oceanco CEO Marcel Onkenhout. “Having already built one yacht with the owner, we had a strong foundation and quickly aligned on vision. This created an enjoyable and productive environment in which the owner's dream could be realized.”

DreAMBoat’s naval architecture was developed by Lateral in partnership with Oceanco’s in-house team. Exterior design is by Espen Øino International, complemented by a warm and refined interior by Mark Berryman Design. Falcon Yacht Management and Wright Maritime Group served as owner’s representative for the project.

Her development, design and construction represent the shortest lead time in Oceanco’s history for this scale of project. With the first discussions taking place in November 2021, the contract signed in February 2022 and delivery in November 2025, the project progressed at an unprecedented pace thanks to the owner’s proactive involvement and the highly collaborative dynamic between all parties.

A vision realized

Like her predecessor, DreAMBoat is designed for quality time with family and friends, while drawing on the owner’s previous ownership experience to create an even more personal expression of their onboard lifestyle. This resulted in expanded accommodation for up to 28 guests and 34 crew and a wide variety of amenities designed for both conviviality and solitude.

“My relationship with Oceanco started out great and only grew stronger,” comments the owner. “They listened and I could feel that they cared about my personal vision. There’s something deeply rewarding about watching your ideas come to life, especially with a partner like Oceanco.”

On the exterior, DreAMBoat’s highlights include a winter garden, covered cocktail terrace, outdoor cinema and private owner’s deck. A versatile entertainment area aft features a swimming pool and jacuzzi. At the owner’s request, a state-of-the-art golf simulator was incorporated on the sun deck for practicing with friends and family.

On the interior, guests will enjoy a cinema lounge, gym, spa with sauna and steam room and a beach club lounge and bar that opens directly onto the swim platform. The design makes extensive use of glass, flooding interiors with natural light and uninterrupted views.

Unprecedented efficiency

A key priority for the owner was achieving delivery in the shortest possible time without compromising on quality or vision. Oceanco embraced the challenge and was able to reduce the build time by approximately 18 months compared to the typical schedule for a full custom yacht of this scale. This pace is highly unusual in the market, especially while still customizing both exterior and interior designs, making DreAMBoat one of the most efficient builds in Oceanco’s history.

“Full transparency and trusting collaboration were essential to achieving the shortest possible lead time, allowing the team to make critical decisions early and remain aligned on the objective from the outset,” says Edske Smit, Project Director at Oceanco. “The owner was very engaged and proactive, with many major design decisions made within the first six to twelve months, sometimes even on the same day. The designers were equally experienced and capable of working at a fast pace, and there was strong collaboration across all parties, including our Co-makers.”

A lasting impact

With a strong interest in sustainability, the owner saw the construction of DreAMBoat as a unique opportunity to leverage Oceanco’s expertise in this area and drive progress across the wider industry. With the owner’s support, Oceanco co-developed a first-of-its-kind Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tool, in collaboration with engineering consultancy Royal Haskoning, that measures the full carbon footprint of a yacht across both its construction and operation.

Based on real data and validated by an independent third party, the LCA tool enabled informed decisions throughout the design and build process to reduce DreAMBoat’s footprint. This included the installation of a battery pack to enable optimized peak shaving and lower operational emissions, as well as the use of sustainable finishes onboard from Nature Squared, a company that uses natural waste materials such as eggshells and coconut shells to create interior details.

The LCA tool now forms part of Oceanco’s ongoing approach, providing clients with a transparent view of how different design and material choices can positively influence a yacht’s energy usage and environmental impact.
