Partner Stocznia signs contract with Vuyk Engineering for 3000 m³ TSHD

8 september 2026

Vuyk Engineering has been contracted by Polish shipyard Partner Stocznia Ltd for the design of a new 3000 m³ trailing suction hopper dredger.

The new 3000 m³ TSHD design is developed as a compact dredging vessel with a balanced combination of dredging capability and operational flexibility. The design integrates the hopper arrangement, trailing suction system and propulsion configuration within a single vessel platform. Vuyk Engineering developed the design in close collaboration with Partner Stocznia Ltd, an established European shipyard with experience in the construction of dredging vessels and specialised offshore ships. The yard focuses on delivering tailored vessel solutions for international operators.

The newbuild vessel is designed to perform a range of dredging activities, including maintenance dredging and project support operations. A key design feature is the integration of dredging equipment within the hull and deck layout, enabling efficient execution of dredging operations within the available vessel dimensions.

The propulsion and power configuration is aligned with the operational profile of a mid-size dredger, supporting both sailing performance and dredging efficiency. The general arrangement provides space for operational systems and dredging equipment within a compact TSHD design.

“The contract with Partner Stocznia Ltd reflects the confidence in Vuyk’s design capabilities,” says Nicky Mayenburg, Manager Ship Design at Vuyk Engineering. “This project draws on our experience with hopper dredgers of different sizes, where the operational requirements and integration of dredging systems form the basis for an efficient design. We look forward to close cooperation with Partner Stocznia Ltd and the various supply partners throughout the project.”

Vuyk Engineering has provided full design packages for vessels with capacities ranging from small dredgers to units exceeding 30,000 m³, alongside structural design and system integration across multiple projects.
