Rising sea levels, sustainable shipping, tapping into clean energy sources and, last but not least, defense and security. In short, our future is at sea and the time is now to label the Dutch maritime technological industry as strategic, and to act accordingly.

No show Fee

Why does NMT use a 'no show fee'? More and more you come across the 'no show fee' at Netherlands Maritime Technology (NMT) events. Why does NMT use such a fee? NMT offers its members many different types of events with the aim of sharing knowledge and networking. Often these events are free of charge. Of course, this does not mean that the organization of these events does not cost money.

Superyacht construction committee

Several members involved in superyacht design and construction are united in this committee. Industry dossiers are taken up and the agenda is set annually. The purpose of this committee is to organize thematic sessions of interest to this section of the constituency. The thematic sessions can cover technical regulations, education, financing and R&D. The goal is position formation and learning. The meetings take place on a rotating basis at member locations.

Inland shipping and fisheries committee

This category includes NMT member shipyards active in inland shipping and/or fishing. During the meetings, current topics within the category are discussed and an open discussion takes place. In this way lessons can be learned from each other and joint progress is made. Topics that are discussed include: technical regulations, innovative developments, safe and healthy working, environment and sustainability.

Marine Ship Repair committee

Several members involved in marine repair yards are united here. Industry dossiers are taken up and the agenda is set annually. The purpose of this committee is to organize meetings with an interesting agenda, for this section from the constituency. Topics in the areas of Occupational Health and Safety and Environment, Technical Regulations, R&D, education and association affairs are on the agenda. The purpose of the meetings is to form positions for the bureau. The meetings take place on a rotating basis at a location at a member site. A social event is held once a year.

Marine vessel new construction committee

Several members involved in marine newbuilding yards are united in this committee. Industry dossiers are taken up and the agenda is set annually. The purpose of this committee is to organize thematic sessions of interest to this section of the constituency. The thematic sessions can cover technical regulations, education, financing and R&D. The goal is position formation and learning. The meetings take place on a rotating basis at member recruitment sites.

Arbo & environment committee

Within this committee, developments within the maritime industry in the areas of health and safety and the environment are discussed. Changes in laws and regulations are closely monitored and their implications in practice are discussed. In addition, the committee works to make working in the maritime sector safer and healthier. This is done by sharing practical experiences and through the joint standard developed by the committee: the shipbuilding occupational health and safety practice book. Currently, the committee is working on updating the environmental handbook so that it is again in line with the latest laws and regulations in that area.

Communication committee

This committee consists of communications professionals working at, NMT member shipyards and suppliers. The committee serves as a sounding board for NMT's communication strategy and also forms a network for knowledge sharing. Each meeting several themes are highlighted, about which the committee members exchange experiences.

Sustainability committee

The committee consists of people from NMT's constituency who find it interesting to think about sustainability issues and who want to do their best to bring the entire sector to an (even) higher level of sustainability. During the meetings, developments in this area are discussed and what initiatives can be developed in the sector and from within the association. The committee is also involved in the internal and external sustainability policy of the association and gives its vision on matters coming from the government to the sector.

Human Capital Committee

The Human Capital Committee (HCC) is a sounding board for industry cooperation, policy and activities of Netherlands Maritime Technology (NMT) within the Human Capital domain, as far as maritime specific issues are concerned. The committee members are expected to give advice and feedback on policy, annual spearheads and activities within this domain. Setting policy is the responsibility of the board. The Human Capital domain includes at least the four sections: Labor market branding/Promote inflow into the sector.
