Royal IHC expands production of Beavers® CSDs at VAHALI Shipyards in Serbia

As a result of the growing demand for Beavers®, Royal IHC has decided to expand its production capacity. In addition to their Dutch production capacity, Royal IHC has selected VAHALI Shipyards to build standard cutter suction dredgers (CSD) at its yard in Serbia. The first steel plates were cut last week, marking the official start of this project.

The vessels are designed by Conoship International to contribute with Wilson’s efforts to meet environmental targets. The order comes in addition to the six CIP3800 vessels announced in June 2023.

Damen Shipyards and Muller Dordrecht christen new Damen ASD Tug 3212

On the 28th of June, a christening ceremony took place in Dordrecht, the Netherlands, marking the delivery of a new Damen ASD Tug 3212 by Damen Shipyards to leading Dutch towage company Muller Dordrecht. Named En Avant 26, the vessel was the third to be delivered by Damen to Muller Dordrecht in the past three years, the others being another Damen ASD Tug 3212 En Avant 25 and a Z-drive Pushboat built by Concordia Damen.

German Armed Forces order two more F126 multipurpose frigates from Damen Naval

The German Navy will receive its urgently needed extra maritime power through an additional procurement of two F126 frigates. Last week, the Budget Committee of the German Bundestag gave the green light for the procurement of a fifth and sixth vessel. Today, the Procurement Organisation of the German Armed Forces (BAAINBw) and Dutch naval shipbuilder Damen Naval signed the contract for two additional F126 multipurpose frigates which bring the total to six vessels.

Damen announces new offshore charging solution for fully electric CTVs

Damen Shipyards Group has developed a new concept for offshore charging, offering a way to dramatically reduce emissions during the operational phase of an offshore wind farm. The system envisages a fully electric crew transfer vessel (CTV) which can charge at either a turbine or one of Damen’s Commissioning Service Operations Vessels outfitted with a charger.
