Damen Shipyards signs contract with Port Marlborough NZ for the delivery of the new ASD Tug 2111 class

Port Marlborough New Zealand (PMNZ) and Damen Shipyards have signed a contract for the delivery of an Azimuth Stern Drive Tug 2111. Just 21 metres in length, the ASD Tug 2111 has a bollard pull of 50 tonnes and its Twin Fin skeg and Azimuth thrusters ensure excellent manoeuvrability.

An increasing number of drinking water supply companies are recognising carbon dioxide (CO2) as the optimal alternative to strong acids in the softening process at purification plants. Drinking water company Oasen has made the switch and chose multidisciplinary specialist GMB and electrical systems integrator Alewijnse to devise a conversion plan. This involved the installation of CO2 tanks and mixing/dosing equipment, ensuring uninterrupted production. The renovated reactors are now successfully operating at the De Steeg and De Laak purification plants.

Pakistan Navy Offshore Patrol Vessel launched at Damen Shipyards Galati

On 12 September 2023, Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania held a launching ceremony for the PNS Hunain, one of a series of Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV) 2600 that Damen is constructing for the Pakistan Navy. Damen was awarded the contract to build the vessel, following its successful delivery of the first two vessels, PNS Yarmook and PNS Tabuk in 2020.
