Econowind scales up with support from NOM and Horizon Flevoland

Using the power of the wind, ocean-going vessels can sail more efficiently. Dutch company Econowind builds ‘VentoFoils’ in Zeewolde and Warten. These sails enable ship owners to reduce fuel consumption by up to 30%. This contributes to making the shipping industry more sustainable. The Investment and Development Agency for the Northern Netherlands (NOM) and Horizon Flevoland are investing heavily in the scale-up to enable rapid growth.

Damen Shipyards has received new orders from Feyz Group in Turkey, a Combi Freighter (CF) 5000 and a CF 3850

On behalf of SLPLUS Holding and based on their trust in Feyz Group’s operational capabilities, Damen Shipyards has received a new order for a Combi Freighter (CF) 5000 and an additional CF 3850, just four weeks after a contract was signed for three CF 3850s. The Feyz Group is currently renewing its fleet and the fast delivery times that Damen achieves through its policy of building in series enables them to respond quickly. Underwater stern tube seal replacement avoids drydock

Recently Hydrex mobilized diver/technician teams to vessels in Belgium and France to carry out stern tube seal replacements. In Brest the repair was carried out on a 150-meter cruise vessel, and in Antwerp, on a 237-meter container ship.

VARD orders SMST mission equipment for North Star’s newbuild CSOVs

SMST has been awarded a contract by Norwegian shipbuilder VARD for the supply of two sets of mission equipment for North Star’s newbuild Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs). The agreement also has an option for equipping two additional ships with the offshore systems of SMST, that guarantee safe transfer for technicians working in the field and ensure efficient handling of cargo on board.
