Damen Services Canada celebrates opening new office

Damen Services Canada recently celebrated the opening of a new service centre in Victoria, BC Canada. Damen Services began operations in Canada in 2019 to provide warranty support for delivered vessels. The new office provides the opportunity to expand with a wider range of vessel support in North America, including parts sales, technical support and maintenance services.

Damen launches Combi Freighter 3850 for Reederei M. Lauterjung at Ba Son Shipyard in Vietnam

Damen Shipyards Group launched a Combi Freighter (CF) 3850 at the Ba Son Shipyard in Vietnam. The CF 3850 is the first in a two-vessel order from Germany-based shipping company Reederei M. Lauterjung. Following this order, Damen’s client has placed an order for a third CF 3850. The vessels are to be named MV Arion, MV Hestia and MV Neptune.

Fugro relocates Amberjack self-elevating platform to Japan to support country’s growing offshore wind market

Fugro has transferred their self-elevating platform (SEP) Amberjack to Japan to meet the country’s growing demand for offshore wind geotechnical services. Under Japanese regulations, vessels registered in Japan follow a more streamlined procedure than foreign-flagged vessels when deployed for fieldwork, so this move will speed up mobilisation to project sites and allow faster delivery of Fugro’s accurate Geo-data to the country's developing offshore wind industry.
