Damen announces successful sea trials for seventh BC Ferries’ Island Class

Damen Shipyards Group has announced the successful completion of sea trials for the latest Island Class ferry for BC Ferries. The seventh Island Class vessel in a series of ten undertook trials during weeks 49 and 50 last year in the Black Sea.

Venterra Company, CAPE Holland, Awarded Contract for Fengmiao Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan

CAPE Holland, a global leader in offshore industry foundation installation equipment and a key company within the Venterra Group, is pleased to announce that it has secured a contract with CDWE for the Fengmiao Offshore Wind Farm project in Taiwan. Under this agreement, CAPE Holland will supply its state-of-the-art CAPE VLT-640 Tandem Vibro Lifting Tool for the pre-installation of foundation (FOU) piles and offshore substation (OSS) piles.

Fugro begins integrated site investigations for SSEN Transmission’s Western Isles power transmission link

Fugro is undertaking nearshore surveys for SSEN Transmission’s Western Isles High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Link, a project that will enable the transfer of 1,800 MW of renewable energy from Scotland’s islands to the UK mainland. These surveys will provide Geo-data to guide the design and construction of the cable landfalls, where subsea cables come onshore, helping to reduce risks and optimise route planning for this vital infrastructure.

Green Deal Validation study: Electrification of sea-going vessels

The latest study of the Dutch Green Deal Validation program is about Electrification of oceangoing vessels. Although there is not a one-size-fits-all solution, the report shows a possible fuel saving up to 9% for vessels with frequent low-speed or dynamic operations.
