Eind mei vond in Helsinki de General Assembly van SEA Europe plaats, de Europese brancheorganisatie voor scheepswerven en maritieme toeleveranciers. Namens Maritime & Offshore NL waren wij aanwezig, samen met Nederlandse leden zoals Damen en Royal IHC.

JSI Alliance delivers safe and efficient heavy-lift installation for Dahej berth expansion
The JSI Alliance is proud to have successfully completed a major project in India for client Afcons Infrastructure Limited. Afcons was contracted to construct a new liquid cargo berth for Gujarat Chemical Port Ltd. (GCPL). The JSI Alliance was contracted for the execution of critical heavy lifting operations for the development.

Concordia Damen levert Century Star op aan Century Cruises
Scheepsbouwer Concordia Damen heeft de Century Star opgeleverd aan Century Cruises. Het schip is het eerste riviercruiseschip dat de in China gevestigde rederij specifiek laat bouwen voor de Europese markt en vormt de start van een reeks van drie zusterschepen. De Century Star vaart vanaf september 2026 op de Donau, met itineraries op de Rijn op een later moment.
Royal T Shipyards launches MPV 'Heleen C', second vessel in New Labrax series for carisbrooke shipping
Royal T Shipyards proudly celebrates the launch of Heleen C, the second vessel in the new series of LABRAX 7,680ton dwt multipurpose dry cargo vessels being built for UK-based shipowner Carisbrooke Shipping. The launch marks another important milestone in the long-standing relationship between both family-owned companies and confirms the success of the upgraded LABRAX concept.
ABB to acquire Høglund to expand marine automation offering
ABB announced today it has entered into an agreement to acquire marine automation specialist Høglund AS, headquartered in Tønsberg, Norway. The acquisition will complement ABB’s existing automation offering to marine customers and support further growth in markets across a wide range of vessel segments. The transaction is expected to close in Q3 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals, and will cover Høglund’s global operations including more than 80 employees in Norway, Poland, Romania, and China. Høglund is currently owned by Eitzen Group and will be integrated into ABB’s Marine & Ports division. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
SolarDuck and MARIN awarded €3.2 million subsidy to advance Offshore Floating Power Hub
Offshore floating solar company SolarDuck and the Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN) have been awarded a €3.2 million subsidy from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) for the Steady Seas research programme. The project will advance the foundational design of SolarDuck’s Offshore Floating Power & Utility Hub (OFPH), a single-platform offshore solar solution developed to provide reliable power, communications and other utilities to remote offshore and subsea assets.
