RINA grants Type Approval to SRC Group’s Methanol Superstorage
SRC Group’s Methanol Superstorage has received Type Approval from RINA, in a formal recognition of a solution which allows shipowners and operators to use methanol and ethanol as green marine fuels without sacrificing storage space.

Er is een Europees voorstel om de productie en het gebruik van PFAS-houdende producten in Europa aan banden te leggen. Onlangs is in het kader van de zogenaamde Socio-Economic Analysis (SEAC), die voorafgaat aan aanpassingen in wet- en regelgeving, door ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) een internetconsultatie geopend. Voor deze analyse wordt inbreng gevraagd van marktpartijen. Daardoor krijgt ECHA inzicht in types, volumes, alternatieven en (eventuele) risico’s die gemoeid gaan met een restrictie (en wellicht ook aanleiding geven tot uitzonderingen) binnen de REACH regelgeving.

De markt van windenergie groeit. En dat moet, om de klimaatdoelen te halen. Er wordt geschat dat ongeveer 80% van het mondiale offshore windpotentieel zich in waterdieptes groter dan 60–80 meter bevindt. Op deze plekken zijn ‘vaste’ windmolens technisch en economisch niet haalbaar. Daarom moet er geïnvesteerd worden in floating wind. Om dit voor elkaar te krijgen, moet er een commercialisatie van floating wind gerealiseerd worden.
